Corby Pool
Bliss Brickwork is pleased to have secured the masonry package at Corby’s new Olympic sized swimming pool, for Willmott Dixon. Designed by S&P Architects, the £18million development is due for completion in March 2009.
Corby Borough Council’s prestigious new sporting facility is bidding to bring the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Corby. The Council hopes the facility will be selected as part of a national portfolio of facilities that will be presented to Olympic associations across the world as they prepare for events in London, following the Beijing Olympic Games
The Pool Complex will have the potential to be a regional centre of excellence for swimming, diving, and synchronised swimming and includes:
- A 50m Main Competition Pool with 5m, 3m and 1m Boards, capable of hosting National Swimming and Junior Diving events
- 20m training/teacher pool
- Fun pool with beach, 75m flume and other fun features
- A 70 station Fitness Suite
- Dance/exercise Room
- Meeting/Function Room
- Café/Viewing area
- Crèche
- Health Suite
