Marathon Effort!

Well, half of one anyway. We thank everyone who took part and all those who sponsored us brave souls that embarked on what for some of us was an epic event. Eight intrepid volunteers completed the 10th NSPCC Milton Keynes Half Marathon raising £650.00 in the process.
With varying levels of fitness we are proud to say that everybody completed the course within the allotted time, but despite this we have not had any tickets turn up for Beijing!
Congratulations to Phil Cooper who was our fastest finisher in 1hr 51m 52s.

Northampton Mental Health Hospital PFI

Bliss Brickwork are delighted to announce that we have recently secured the masonry subcontract package for the construction of the new Northampton Mental Health Hospital, for main contractor Balfour Beatty.

Construction began on the 26 November 2007 and is scheduled to be completed by May 2010. The hospital will be built in two phases. The new units for adults will be built first and are due to be ready by 1 December 2008. Once these are occupied the remaining Pendered buildings can be demolished and the second phase will start. This will include the new facilities moving from Princess Marina Hospital.

The new hospital will cost around 35 million pounds to build, with the scheme is being financed through the Government's Private Finance Initiative.

The new hospital will provide 135 beds - all in single rooms with en-suite facilities, along with many other care facilities such as Physiotherapy rooms, Occupational therapy rooms, a Pharmacy etc
